Date of Sighting (and time if known): 09.29.09 just after midnight
Location of Sighting: Chicago, IL, USA Rogers Park area
Shape(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): Looked triangular at first, but I think it was 3 different objects flying in a triangular formation because they split up and the back two moved forward ahead of the leader, then fell back into formation again.
Size(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): In formation, they looked like a very very large airplane flying very low.
Color(s) of UFO(s) (If Known): Dark, each with a straight line of dim red lights.
Number of UFO(s) (If Known): Three
Distance of UFO(s) in sky (If Known): Looked like they were flying pretty low, like an airplane on approach.
Direction of Travel for UFO(s) (If Known): Flying northeast
Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): In the original formation, I wondered if it was a stealth bomber, which is why I kept watching it.
Further Description of Sighting: At first I thought it was a oddly lit airplane, but the back two sets of lights moved forward changing it from what was a standard V formation to the reverse formation, then the staggered: one in the middle front, one slightly behind to the left, and one a little further behind to the right.
They moved fast, but probably not faster than an airplane.
The each object had lights that were were very dim and in a distinctly straight line.
